Nigel Clough came to the club in October 1998 after a successful career at Nottingham
Forest, where he played over 400 games and scored over 100 goals, and he also had a spell at Liverpool after a £2.3 million
move, and later at Man City. After a foot injury, Nigel decided to call it a day and get into management, with two jobs being
available, Leeds & Burton Albion. Suprisingly he chose Burton Albion! After a few poor seasons, he helped the club win
the Unibond Title in style scoring over 100 goals in the process. After 4 very poor seasons in the conference, the 2005-2006
has been the best yet, with a top 12 finish expected and an FA Cup run, in which the club met and held Man Utd. With
another decent season in the pipeline with players such as Rowett, Clare and Gilroy we should do well, but when we
have to use the likes of Holmes, Harrad and Scoffham, that is when to start worrying.
